Vacancy:
Senior Artificial Insemination Technician with a minimum of 1,000 confirmed pregnancies in dairy cattle.
The role is technical (not veterinary) and requires precision in semen handling, insemination, farming, and record.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Perform artificial insemination (AI) with high accuracy in cows and heifers.
2. Handle semen (conventional and sexed) with strict adherence to thawing and timing protocols.
3. Maintain accurate breeding and conception records.
4. Detect oestrus and support synchronization and Fixed-Time AI (IATF) programs.
5. Collaborate with the Dairy Manager and reproductive team on fertility strategies.
6. Ensure compliance with animal welfare, safety, and biosecurity standards.
7. Train junior technicians and herdsmen in basic oestrus detection and AI assistance.
Qualifications & experience
• Certified AI Technician (certificate from a recognized institution).
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience.
• Proven record of 1,000+ confirmed pregnancies (documented and reference-supported).
• Experience in both conventional and sexed semen use.
• Familiarity with synchronization protocols and IATF.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Not required to be a veterinarian.

• Physically fit to handle dairy cattle.
• Ability to work flexible hours (oestrus observation and timed AI).
• Team player, adaptable to modern reproduction technologies and farm systems.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
• Conception Rate (CR): 35–45% in cows, 45–60% in heifers (conventional semen).
• Services per Conception: 1.8–2.4 depending on category.
• Pregnancy Rate per 21/30 days in synchronization batches.
• Strict compliance with semen handling protocols and biosecurity.
