Reliability Technician – Victoria, Australia

The Opportunity

The role is a 24 x 7 rotating shift role that works very closely with the Operations team across the site. The primary role is to conduct maintenance services and support the production team with line tuning, centre lining, process failures & breakdowns. The roles core responsibility is the Filling & Packing area of the UHT plant where it will be required to support the ongoing tuning and maintenance of the lines but can also cover site utility services, processing equipment and warehouse/distribution and grounds. The role will be part of a growing business and team, in a fast paced and flexible manufacturing application. Due to the nature of the role and the specialised skills gained through this role you will be offered support and training to the site reliability and operations team.

The role reports to Reliability Manager.

Core accountabilities of the Reliability Technician Shepparton

  • Complete all PM tasks as assigned
  • Responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses
  • Coaches operating teams in technical aspects of equipment, to deliver overall line results supporting the Shepparton Operations Strategy
  • Capitalise on windows of opportunity to perform routine checks, inspections and preventive works
  • Utilise experience and knowledge in a predictive maintenance application
  • Ensure stoppages, performance issues or breakdowns are rectified in a safe and timely manner
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis on equipment.
  • Eliminating losses and root cause problem solving
  • Complete IPS (Initial Problem Solving) and coach operators through process
  • Assist in the completion of IDA (In-Depth Analysis) to eliminate repeat breakdowns

Electrical safety

  • Perform all electrical works in accordance with relevant standards not limited to but including AS/NZS
  • Standards and electrical code of practice.
  • Guide, mentor and coach an electrical apprentice.
  • Document relevant tasks in MEX (CMMS) to assist with periodic COES submissions

Position Requirements – Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Formal training on Tetra Pak UHT filling and packing systems specifically A3 Speeds, cappers & box packers, 3yrs experience working on this equipment
  • 3 years working within a Qualified A class electrician or equivalent, experience in FMCG & food and beverage manufacturing utilizing Tetra Pak equipment highly desirable.
  • Specialised skills within one or more equipment types s highly desirable – PLC, instrumentation, Scada or other operating systems,
  • Ability to read Schematics and wiring diagrams, OEM manuals/plans/PID’s to understand equipment
  • Use of MEX, stock control and inventory management or equivalent CMMS
