The Senior Maintenance & Engineering Manager is a pivotal role focused on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of all maintenance and engineering operations. This position is responsible for developing strategic maintenance plans, overseeing engineering projects, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while aligning with the organization’s long-term objectives.
Main tasks of the position (In terms of process & People):
- Develop and implement strategic maintenance and engineering plans to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
- Lead and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage maintenance and engineering budgets, optimizing resource allocation and cost efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance and engineering team to achieve high performance.
- Introduce and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall operational goals and efficiencies.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards.
- Manage relationships with external contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

with operations, production, quality, and safety teams.

Departmental Structure:
The Senior Maintenance & Engineering Manager will report to the Site Director and have decision making authority within the maintenance and engineering department.
Financial/Non-financial:
Responsible for managing the maintenance and engineering budgets and driving non-financial aspects such as safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Leadership:
The Senior Maintenance & Engineering Manager will provide strategic leadership, coaching, and development to the maintenance and engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in maintenance and engineering management, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing.
- Strong strategic leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance management systems and engineering best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
